Introduction
WiseTrip and your privacy
WiseTrip is a collaborative trip-planning service. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Who we are
WiseTrip is operated by the team behind wisetrip.net. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].
What we collect
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and picture from Google. If you use a password, we store only a hash of it, never the password itself.
- Two-factor details: if you turn it on, a secret for your authenticator app and your backup codes.
- Trip content you create: trip names and descriptions, countries and cities, dates, route stops, activities, expenses and who owes what, flights, notes, and files you upload to a trip's vault.
- Messages: messages you send to Wisy, our AI assistant, and its replies.
- Preferences: your language, and settings such as notification choices.
- Technical data: your IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention, and server logs of requests.
- Billing records: if you buy Wisy Pro, a subscription identifier and its status, and the country you were in when you subscribed. We work that country out from the country code our network provider attaches to the request and from the country on your PayPal account; we keep the country, not your IP address. Tax rules require a seller to hold evidence of where a customer was at the time of sale, and that evidence cannot be reconstructed later. Card details are handled by PayPal and never reach us.
Why we use it
Why we use it
- To give you an account and keep you signed in.
- To show your trips to you and to the people you invite to them.
- To produce the features you ask for: AI route suggestions, budget estimates, place discovery, weather, flight prices and status, maps and transit guidance.
- To send you email you asked for: trip invitations and address confirmation.
- To keep the service working and safe: rate limiting, abuse prevention and debugging.
- To take payment for Wisy Pro if you subscribe.
- To meet our tax obligations on a subscription, which includes recording where you were when you bought it.
Who else sees it
Who else sees it
Other members of a trip see that trip's content and the names, pictures and roles of everyone on it. Trip owners and admins also see members' email addresses, because they are the ones who invite people.
If you publish a trip to Explore, anyone on the internet can see the sections you chose to publish. You choose those sections and can unpublish at any time.
We also use service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare (hosting, network and R2 object storage) - the files and images you upload.
- Google (sign-in, Places, and map imagery) - your sign-in identity, and the place searches you run.
- DeepSeek (AI) - the trip details and messages needed to answer an AI request, including your Wisy messages.
- Resend (email delivery) - the recipient address and content of invitation and confirmation emails.
- MapTiler (map tiles), OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (place lookup), Open-Meteo (weather), AeroDataBox (flight status) and Travelpayouts (flight prices) - the search terms and coordinates needed for each lookup.
- PayPal (payments) - your subscription and payment details, handled by PayPal under its own policy.
Where your data is held
Where your data is held
Our servers and databases are hosted in Europe and Israel. The providers listed above may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where that happens we rely on the provider's own transfer safeguards.
How long we keep it
How long we keep it
We keep your account and your trips for as long as your account exists. Deleting a trip removes its content and its uploaded files. Server logs and abuse-prevention records are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Billing and tax records are the exception: where the law requires a seller to keep records of a sale, we keep those records for as long as it requires, even after the account is gone. That is the subscription, what was charged, and the country evidence described above - not your trips.
To delete your whole account, write to [email protected] from the address on the account and we will remove it.
Your rights
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. You can edit most of your data directly in the app.
To make a request, write to [email protected]. If you are in the EU or the UK and you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children

WiseTrip is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will remove it.
